Dear FSXpilot767, When I fly an approach in the NGX not following a STAR, and try to fly a normal ILS approach I would have to capture the Localizer from heading select mode. When I try this it seems that the Localizer won't capture, it just stays armed untill the very last moment, about 1.5 mile away from the runway it captures not a normal 10 miles away. Then it tries to follow the glideslope and localizer making hideous manouevres before landing with a too fast speed. Could you help me out?

Does this problem occur even when you capture the localiser in HDG SEL mode? Because I usually use heading select mode to capture the localiser (so LNAV doesn’t start turning prematurely) and it works just fine :)

Thanks, no problem! Yes, I’m using an add-on called EzDok, it’s a great add-on which also provides the head movements when landing in episode 9 as well :)

Thanks a lot for your tutorial videos. I've been flying the PMDG 737NGX for about 2 weeks and it's my first non-default aircraft in FSX so your tutorials probably account for at least 80% of my knowledge in a "real" aircraft. Could you do a flight from EDDM to LOWI with SID/STAR via RTT to RWY08 complete with FMC route planning, navigation set-up etc? What's the best way to follow GP to LOWI? I tried using APP mode, but I couldn't cancel out of APP and hold 3500 around to land on 08 :)

Thanks for watching my videos, it’s greatly appreciated! I’m afraid I couldn’t upload a full flight but I do have plans for ‘airport tutorials’ so I’ll start with Innsbruck, do all of the approaches and some departures then move on to a different airport which people request :)

I am often asked by my YouTube viewers which PC I have. My specifications are on my channel but telling the truth you can’t really go off a brief set of specifications. In my opinion the best way to see if your PC can run Flight Simulator X and all of the add-ons you also require is to browse through YouTube videos noting the performance they are getting (bearing in mind they may also be using recording software). Then, find your maximum budget and build your own custom PC. It takes a lot of research and I definitely can’t be held responsible for anything you do to you PC but building your own is definitely a very cost-effective way of upgrading your system.

EzDok is in my opinion an excellent add-on for Flight Simulator X, especially for those of you who want to record yourself flying. It works by adding movement effects on the camera such as vibrations, random movements to simulate a head moving, smooth camera movements when panning and sudden violent movements during heavy turbulence, while landing and on runways. In all of my more recent videos I use this and for the price of around £20 ($35) I personally can’t fault it so far.

It isn’t just for inside the pilots seat though, camera views can be edited, added, or deleted anywhere inside or outside the aircraft or in fact anywhere in the world. This is an extremely powerful tool when it comes to making videos because of the massive amount of creativity that can be applied using this software. It can transform your videos from the average Flight Simulator X video into something truly cinematic!
